An interesting meeting at Celista Hall today re: the Garland Road cannabis production facility. About 300 residents came out to hear the company discuss the facility, job opportunities and have questions answered. The meeting lasted a full two hours and there were some concerned community members asking some pointed questions of the company reps. Not all went away feeling great, but we have to recognise that there will always be some drawbacks to any change. Those that came looking for information on job opportunities or community benefits or confirmation that this will not be a big polluter of our aquifers went away satisfied I think. We should be hearing about job possibilities sometime next spring. The plan is to have another community meeting next spring after the first buildings are up and running so we can give feedback on how we feel things are shaping up.

All in all, just another North Shuswap adventure!!
